I
learnt a lot of things. It make me think now that I have become more
independent, confident, and able to negotiate! I experienced other
significant things that I haven't experienced before! |
 |
Actually,
this was the first time I’m involved in the camp. I didn’t
imagine what a great adventure would be put into my life. I thought
it might be boring. I really had no idea what was in the camp,
if it gonna be boring, challenging or whatsoever. Now I realised
that it was a super duper enjoyable task we did in the camp. I
learnt a lot of things. It make me think now that I have become
more independent, confident, and able to negotiate! I experienced
other significant things that I haven't experienced before!
Anyway, The first operation we did, when we arrived in the camp,
we met our instructor Mr. Matt and Mr. Dann. They were very friendly
and professional. After they grouped us and associated with us.
We had our yummy burgers for lunch. Then, we went to our lodges,
it’s more like a cabin. Each cabin had telly, closet, comfortable
rooms and showers. It’s a double bunk type. Marry, Geraldine,
and I became close in the first day. We were together in the bed,
we laughed and giggled together, and we shared things and secrets.
In the whole week we became best of friends. I became familiar
with their characters. Geraldine was a daddy’s girl, very
loud, flirtatious sometimes and a spoiled brat girl but she’s
a nice and cool friend too.
|
I
also got along with other campers who were in the camp and
made many friends. I learnt some of their languages. We
joked and bonded with each other and that made me feel at
home.

Mary?
She was actually very funny, very loud, dependable, kind and very
friendly to everyone.
I also got along with other campers who were in the camp and made
many friends. I learnt some of their languages. We joked and bonded
with each other and that made me feel at home. I also found my
‘ baby friend’ Jia Xuan. She’s so cute and ready
to undergo each activity even though she was the youngest of all
of us. I admire her. Not like other campers, they didn’t
play their part in some task we’d done. Not to mention Joshua,
he’s afraid of going onto high areas. I also find him funny,
easy to be with and nice.

Enough
of that! Okay, after we were shown our rooms we began our first recreation,
the ‘ ropes courses’. When I first saw that I felt very
excited to try the first task. When I was on the top I feel a little
bit of dought because maybe I would fall down. I was scared to death!
But I made it. It was a really awesome feeling. After our dinner we
had some Aussie games led by Mr Dan. Then we had our supper, every
night before we slept chocolate and biscuits. In the camp we ate healthy
meals. Our meals were more like a buffet. That made me now a little
bit fatty. I gained 5 grams he he he . . . Do I need to tell you that?
I get also got darker coz we were sometimes exposed to the sun. But
its okay and I enjoyed it very much. |
On
the second day we had our ‘ big swing’ and the ‘
jump of faith’. |
Anyway,
On the second day we had our ‘ big swing’ and the
‘ jump of faith’. It was like jumping in the high
building or suiciding but it was very a real adventure experience.
In the afternoon we had the ‘ canoeing and sailing’
on the river. Marry Geraldine and I were on one boat. It was so
funny because Marry would always yell us because we didn’t
know do much about canoeing but she was good. Anyway, I woudn't
be surprised if she's yelling too much everytime, that’s
she is, very loud but it’s fun! The other students were
good at sailing. Then it became funnier when we crashed into the
bark of a tree, then whoooaaaa… we sank our boat! Luckily
it was near to the shore and the water was only up to our chest
and somebody helped us to lift the boat. But, bad luck too, coz
it was cold and we felt we were in the ice and I had a scratch
on my left foot that I didn’t notice coz I didn’t
wear shoes. Good luck, coz I’m still alive ha ha! Miss Mataio
arrived in the camp that night.

Well,
on the third day we executed ‘ bushwalks and bush cookouts’
we climbed into the wild forest. We became familiar with the plants
and trees surrounding us. We saw some picturesque parts of the Pacific
Ocean, river, thoroughfare, houses, the temple and the woods at the
top of the mountain. Then while walking we gathered some sticks for
our bush cookouts. We made fire near the river, and then we cooked
sausages with bread for our lunch. Then we made damper and cooked
it and put onto honey onto it and orange juice for our dessert. We
all had a good time. After that, we took a shower and had our dinner.
My group was assigned the washing up. Then we played basketball and
some Aussie sports. I find myself good at basketball (really huh!).
After that, we watch video the ‘ Pirates of the Carribean’
it was a good movie. |
We
saw some picturesque parts of the Pacific Ocean,
river, thoroughfare, houses, the temple and the
woods at the top of the mountain.
|
On
the fourth day we had our beach trip to the Palm Beach. We saw
some huge and beautiful houses there. Miss Mataio and Mr. Lawrie
said that the houses cost $16m-$36m (those were such rich people
huh!). Mr. Matt told us too that, this was the beach where the
“home and Away” shooting takes place. It was very
an amazing place! After our lunch, we had our ‘indoor heated
pool’. I really enjoyed it coz I loved swimming esp. in
the pool. We played volleyball. Then Mr. Rice taught Mary and
me how to swim and take a long breath in the water. I really like
Mr Rice! He is so kind and a very nice person. After swimming
we went right away to archery. On our last night we had “disco”
my favourite of all the time. We savoured each dance on the dancefloor!
Mary, Julian and I danced and sang in front of the crowd on the
stage. I really had enough confidence at that time. I even led
the crowd in one of the dances on the dancefloor and I sang out
loud, or I would say I shout loud! ha ha ha!
|
 |
Miss
Mataio was so cool. She led the dancefloor all the time. She loves
to dance. Ms. Douladellis dances well too. Mr. Rice dances so
cool too. I saw he enjoyed it very much. Mary was a good dancer.
Then we had our last supper and got back to our lodge and packed
up our things for going home tomorrow. Then, I watched telly with
my flatmates in one room. We giggled with each other on our last
night.
On our last day, we woke up late. We began our last quest the
‘abseiling’. It’s about 11 metres high, I reckon.
It’s really fun!
Obviously . . . I enjoyed my week so much !
Signing off
