A
VISIT TO THE
AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM by . . .
On Wednesday our class went on an
excursion to the Museum which is in the city. We went there to learn
more about Australia.
When we arrived at the Museum we first went to the Aboriginal section.
There were many things to see and learn about the Aborigines. We saw
many paintings that were very old. They painted on rocks and on bark.
The Aborigines liked hunting and they made spears, clubs and boomerangs
to kill animals. They also made nets to catch the fish from the sea.
In this section there was also an example of a church which was built
over one hundred years ago.
In another section there were animals that used to live in Australia
but are now extinct. Everywhere in the Museum there were skeletons
of animals and people.
We left the Museum at about 11.45am because everyone felt hungry.
We went to a McDonalds to eat our lunch. After, we walked to Town
Hall and caught the train back to the Centre.
Although it was a rainy day and everyone got a little bit wet, we
had an interesting day. Many students had not been in this part of
the city. We learnt a lot of new things that day. |
